Luminess is committed to responsible, sustainable and human digital technology
A technology company committed to sustainable transformation
At Luminess, digital technology is more than just a tool; it's a powerful lever for change. We've chosen to put CSR at the heart of our work. Our mission is simple: to create technological solutions that respect people, communities, and the planet, without ever losing sight of the human element.
We know that every service, every project can have an impact, positive or negative. That's why we work hand in hand with our teams, our partners and our clients to move towards a fairer, more responsible and more sustainable digital world.

We have a special responsibility as a digital player. Being useful, sober, and transparent: this is our roadmap for a digital world that makes sense.
Reducing our footprint: our environmental strategy
A more sober digital world for a sustainable future
Digital technology now accounts for nearly 4% of global greenhouse gas emissions.
As a technology company, Luminess fully measures the environmental impact of its activity and takes concrete action to limit its effects.
Since 2024, we have implemented an energy transition plan , with a clear objective: to reduce our carbon emissions by 15% in three years.
This strategy is based on the annual measurement of our carbon footprint, the identification of our most emitting items, and the implementation of an action plan monitored monthly by our operational and CSR teams.
Act across the entire digital lifecycle
Our actions focus on:
The energy efficiency of our infrastructure;
IT equipment rationalization : extending lifespan, refurbishment, optimized workstation management;
The choice of committed energy suppliers: 33% renewable energy in our current energy mix (vs. 11% in 2020).
Eco-design is at the heart of our environmental approach. All our digital projects incorporate the principles of the General Eco-design Framework for Digital Services (RGESN). This means:
Reduce the weight and power consumption of our applications;
Extend the lifespan of digital services;
Avoid unnecessary or energy-intensive features ;
Working on more understated architectural designs.
Supporting our clients in their transition (Scope 3)
By integrating the principles of responsible digital practices into our offerings, we enable our clients to reduce their own carbon footprint . This approach encompasses functional efficiency, resource optimization, infrastructure improvement, and the design of sustainable solutions.

Humans as the driving force of transformation
At Luminess, our greatest asset is our employees . We have chosen a management model based on trust, autonomy, and purpose. Our ambition is clear: to offer everyone a fulfilling and stimulating work environment that aligns with our values.
Our founding principles:
-
To give meaning to our collective project;
-
Promote an open and respectful dialogue;
-
Promote inclusive and agile work practices ;
-
Developing skills and supporting each individual journey.
Promoting diversity and inclusion
We are fighting for more diversity in tech, particularly regarding gender. The proportion of women in our technical teams is steadily increasing, with a target of 30% by 2027.
Our teams are also intergenerational, with 1 in 3 employees over 45 years old.
Inclusion side:
-
Our tools are designed to be accessible to all ( RGAA );
-
We support solidarity initiatives (mentoring, skills-based volunteering, etc.);
-
We offer courses adapted for people with disabilities.
Commitment and quality of life
- 92 % of our employees find meaning in their work;
- 87 % appreciate their professional environment;
- More than 35 internal training courses were offered in 2023 to improve skills.
We also encourage solidarity through patronage, days of solidarity action, and sponsorship of associations. Every year, we participate in Pink October , mobilizing our teams around the fight against breast cancer.
Train, develop, evolve
We believe in long-term career paths and collaborative projects. Each year, we offer more than 35 internal training courses to enable everyone to develop their skills, retrain, or move into new roles.
Sustainable mobility
The Luminess Tour is our internal initiative to encourage cycling to work. This simple approach reduces our carbon footprint and strengthens team cohesion. It's also supported by our cycling commuters . This community, founded by our employees, is present at all our sites. In 2023, 6,3 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions were saved thanks to cycling to work.
Responsible governance: ethics, transparency and trusted digital technology
Governance integrated into the strategy
Our CSR governance is structured, managed and aligned with our corporate strategy.
Luminess's CSR committee , attached to the general management, monitors specific indicators and reports annually in a transparent report.
This governance is based on:
-
The integration of CSR objectives into performance KPIs ;
-
Training managers in ethical governance;
-
Regular monitoring of commitments (carbon footprint, social barometers, etc.).
Digital responsibility and data sovereignty
A major player in digital technology, Luminess processes more than a quarter of the personal data of French people.
This position demands a high level of exemplary practices in data protection, processing, and governance . We go beyond regulatory requirements to guarantee:
-
End-to-end security of the data entrusted to us;
-
A transparent and controlled processing chain ;
-
Regarding AI, we go beyond compliance: we use Mistral AI , a French open-source language model, hosted on secure infrastructure. No black box, no automated decisions without human oversight. Humans remain responsible for critical decisions ;
-
Technology partners aligned with our ethical requirements.
Ethical and inclusive digital
Finally, our vision of digital technology is inclusive and equitable.
We develop solutions accessible to all, ensuring that the digital divide is reduced.
