Reducing our footprint: our environmental strategy
A more sober digital world for a sustainable future
Digital technology currently accounts for nearly 4% of global greenhouse gas emissions.
As a technology company, Luminess fully measures the environmental impact of its activity and takes concrete action to limit its effects.
Since 2024, we have implemented a energy transition plan, with a clear objective: reduce our carbon emissions by 15% in three years.
This strategy is based on the annual measurement of our carbon footprint, the identification of our most emitting items, and the implementation of an action plan monitored monthly by our operational and CSR teams.
Act across the entire digital lifecycle
Our actions focus on:
-
THEenergy efficiency of our infrastructure;
-
Rationalization of IT equipment : extended lifespan, reconditioning, optimized management of workstations;
-
The choice of committed energy suppliers: 33% renewable energy in our current energy mix (vs. 11% in 2020).
Eco-design is at the heart of our environmental approach. All our digital projects integrate the principles of the General Reference Framework for Ecodesign of Digital Services (RGESN). This means:
-
Reduce weight and consumption of our applications;
-
Extend the lifetime digital services;
-
Avoid unnecessary features or energy-consuming;
-
Working on more sober architectures.
Supporting our clients in their transition (Scope 3)
By integrating the principles of responsible digital technology into our offerings, we enable our customers to reduce their own carbon footprintThis approach encompasses functional sobriety, resource optimization, infrastructure improvement and the design of sustainable solutions.
