Paris, May 19, 2025 – The SESAM-Vitale Economic Interest Group (EIG) today announced the renewal of its strategic collaboration with Luminess, a French company and leading player in intelligent document processing (IDP) and process outsourcing, for a further six years. A long-standing partner, Luminess has been managing files related to the issuance of Vitale cards for over 15 years. This new, expanded contract involves the digitization of nearly 4 million files per year, representing approximately 8 million pages processed, with increased requirements in terms of security, compliance, traceability, and social responsibility.

This renewal marks an important step: it confirms our role as a trusted partner for major public institutions, capable of combining technological performance, data sovereignty and concrete societal impact, in the service of policyholders.
A key link in the Vitale card issuing process
Every year, millions of files – in digital format (60%) or paper (40%) – are processed from the secure sites of Laval and Mayenne (53), operated by Luminess. The entire process is controlled, from the receipt of requests to the provision of data via a secure portal for health insurance funds.
The photos are extracted, the supporting documents checked and their consistency verified automatically using the Luminess' sovereign platform, LUMIA, designed and hosted in France (SecNumCloud certification). It integrates AI modules that strengthen anomaly detection and optimize processing reliability. This system significantly reduces processing times, offers a high reliability rate, and guarantees complete traceability of flows, while meeting the most demanding GDPR standards. Luminess also provides health insurance fund agents with: a portal allowing them to follow files in real time, to view any non-compliant parts, and thus better support policyholders.
In a context marked by the acceleration of digital uses and growing requirements in terms of personal data security, the renewal of this strategic market illustrates in particular the desire of the GIE SESAM-Vitale to support innovation and the industrial ecosystem.
This market plays a key role in the rapid and secure delivery of Vitale cards. Luminess offers a GDPR-compliant, efficient, and scalable processing chain, essential for ensuring a rapid, reliable, and secure service for all policyholders.
A partnership based on sustainable and sovereign performance
Beyond technological performance, this partnership is part of the Luminess' CSR approach : use of recycled paper, systematic sorting of waste, direct or indirect employment of people with disabilities and commissioning of a photovoltaic power plant on its Laval site since 2024.
This market is also part of Luminess' 2024–2027 roadmap, which is intensifying its investments in AI, data and sovereign infrastructure.
Reference technological partner for major public institutionss, Luminess has also recently been selected by the Digital Department of the Social Ministries as part of a framework contract on artificial intelligence dedicated to data enhancement.
